Today I’m writing to you with a heavy weight on my heart. Last night I was made aware that the Amazonia Rainforest has been burning for the 3rd consecutive week and no one is doing anything. I learned that this is happening through twitter – and not from international media – which has not been covering the events happening in South America.
São Paulo was completely dark in the middle of the day because the sun could not shine through the smoke from a fire that was happening over 2000 KM away.
People, animals and plants are dying and if the whole rainforest burns down, 20% of the worlds oxygen is going with it. What is happening is a serious matter.. I truly don’t understand why governments are not doing anything. What is UNESCO doing, since it is considered the Central Amazon Conservation Complex, and natural heritage by them.
Siberia and Greenland have burned this year, two of the coldest places in the world.
The end might be closer than we thought.
I will be updating you as soon as I have more information made available.
